Hii... I scored 59.6 in my 10th boards and 71 in my 12th boards.. both ICSE AND ISC. I'm currently in my 5th sem of graduation and I have scored 89% (ours is a cgpa system .. so calculating the cgpa's of all the 4 semesters I have 89%).. I'll be appearing for snap cat and nmat this year . I just want to ask will my 10th boards marks affect in my admission process and will my graduation marks help me reach a good b-school. (To some extent).. Thankyou.

Kanika Kamra, a SIBM AlumnaMany B-schools like many of the top IIMs give some weightage to class X marks/grades while shortlisting candidates for the GD/PI process. Evaluation of past academic records is done to ensure that the candidate will perform well in the future as well. However, this weightage is marginal and the majority of it depends on how you perform in your main exams like CAT, XAT, etc. and later your GD/PI processes. Since you cannot control or change your past academic record, it is advisable to focus on your preparation in order to achieve a high percentile. Similarly, your graduation marks will also be used for shortlisting and will definitely give you an advantage.
