IIM Ahmedabad has a rich legacy, being conceived by eminent scientist Vikram Sarabhai as an institute of excellence. It is important to understand where the Institute comes from, where its ethos lies and why it does deserve the status it gets. People here, and people associated with the institute work tirelessly to ensure that the envisioned level of excellence is maintained.
Call me biased, but I think the college prepares you well for the industry in terms of discipline and rigour. if you can handle the first year at IIMA, you can pretty much handle anything in life.
Although Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM - A) is one of the oldest Bschools of the country, its infrastructure has evolved over time. At IIM A, which is spread over a few hundred acres, you get unparalleled infrastructure, which is conducive to learning and studying.Although Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM - A) is one of the oldest Bschools of the country, its infrastructure has evolved over time. Well, people say IIMA is the mecca of management education in India and they're aren't lying! It indeed is the best place to enhance your overall personality. The two year tenure at IIMA has been the most transforming phase of my life. You learn tonnes of concepts, which have direct application in the corporate sector. Academically it is by far the best program in the country.
Some people say A in IIM-A stands for academic rigor. First, that's a fact. The entire first year program is so gracefully packed, it will push you just to your limits. It's not just about academics either, it's about projects, clubs, sports and much more. The best part, however, is the people you get to meet here.
Have been going through the threads of different IIMs & what I observed was that the janta wants to know what's unique to each IIM and what makes it different from the others. In case of IIM-A, although there are hazaar things to talk about, I'll talk about some ""soft"" courses, which as per my knowledge are unique to IIM-A
One of the colleges that gives you uncountable number of opportunities to prove and develop your skills. Very professional and abided by the rules. The classrooms are just perfect with AC's, Mic, projector, board, podium and speakers. The college provides facility of laptop to each student and they are allowed to use campus WiFi. Faculty is so amazing as they have mastered their respective subjects, have worked in big companies and MNC's and so are able to tell us what actually we are going to do after MBA. The infrastructure is good. It only lacks of bigger washrooms but trust me everything else is just perfect. We have radio station, a big pool of books, computer labs, canteens, swimming pool, playground, etc.
