Like most of other IIMs, IIM Shillong has a very hectic schedule. Classes start at 9 in the morning and goes on till 6 in the evening. Sometimes there are extra classes and I have personally attended classes up to 2 AM in the night, but that is very rare. Also the rule of minimum 85% attendance makes it absolutely critical to attend classes. But attending classes is not all, there is hours of preparation before attending any class. You have to read and analyze the case study that is supposed to be discussed in next class before going to class, there are frequent presentations, projects and assignments in every subject. There is a mid-term exam (20% weightage) and an end term exam (40% weightage)
IIM Shillong is in top 20 B schools of India. Though IIM Shillong was started in 2008 and still has no campus of it's own, it's an IIM which is doing good with an average placement (Domestic) roughly around 15 LPA.You can surely choose IIM Shillong over all new and baby IIMs, XIMB, IMT, KJ Somaya , GIM , etc.
Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong is one of the premier management institutes of our country. It is situated in the beautiful city of Shillong in Meghalaya. It is a dream come true for people who love rainy season because here it rains almost every day. The campus is located in the residential area of Nyongthymmai spreading across 10acres of land. The infrastructure lacks a bit being situated in a small place but when you get to study in a picturesque city like Shillong you don't care about it much. The faculty is awesome coming from different educational backgrounds and with great achievements
It is indeed the best place I've ever studied at. The atmosphere, the environment, the professors, the students all are the part of a combination that makes you fall in love with this place. I'm pretty sure no other student would write that his college provides an environment that makes him wish to spend some more time there. The greatest thing about this place is the people. Everyone is so friendly and supporting. I personally felt a great change in me in just first fifteen days at this place. The hard academic curriculum makes you run at a great speed in a very short span of training.
